Replacing a marine PCB card: version, firmware and settings

How to avoid a card that fits the rack but does not work.

Control, I/O and power cards from alarm, engine-control and automation systems often look identical across versions. Check these before you order a replacement:

  1. Full part number and revision. Printed on the label or etched on the board.
  2. Firmware or software version. Some cards need the same or a compatible version.
  3. Jumper and DIP-switch settings. Photograph them on the old card before removal.
  4. Connector and slot. Confirm the backplane or rack position.

Every card we sell is power-tested before dispatch, and we send photos of the label and settings so you can compare before you pay.
